The secret, an ornament – Simmel

15 September 202210 February 2023

Georg Simmel, who died in 1918, is the author of a Sociology where he analyzes, among other things, the function of secrecy in esoteric societies.

“Secrecy functions as an ornament that one possesses and that valorizes the person.”

This is how secret societies exert fascination on people, giving them a sense of superiority.
