The service sector in cities

The city differs from the rural world in the activities that are carried out there.

Thus, as one might expect, the primary sector is spread out over the entire territory almost uniformly.

But the services are more concentrated, with 90% of jobs in 10% of the municipalities.

However, these figures are from 1990. It would be interesting to know whether this trend is reinforced in the 21st century, or whether it is reversed.

What is certain is that the share of the tertiary sector is increasing everywhere, not only in France but also in the world. In 2012, the tertiary sector accounted for 60% of the world economy. And Urbanization is also progressing rapidly.
