“Donald Trump used to be a Democrat, he used to be a registered Democrat. He became a Republican basically because he saw that as the path to power. I don’t know what his true views on abortion are, but he’s certainly saying the things he thinks that the Republican Party establishment wants to hear with respect to I’m going to appoint justices to the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade and the right to an abortion. And again, a lot of it has to do with religion. And it’s somewhat amazing because Donald Trump, I don’t think is religious. I don’t get the sense that he is particularly religious at all. And you get the kind of far right religious individuals who are supporting him. Why a lot of it has to do with abortion and getting religion back into society. I think that’s played a big part. And again, it shows how Trump has told people what they want to hear to try to get power.
